In this booklet Master Mantak Chia has extended the exploration of the first book, EMDR and the Universal Healing Tao. That book described the inter-relations between the topics of depression, anxiety, trauma and addictions and described a new approach to trauma treatment. In this follow-up volume describes how addiction treatment can be more effective and comprehensive.

Once again taken on the challenge of merging Western and Eastern approaches to offer an approach that combines traditional Western addictions counselling practices with practical applications of Taoist wisdom, training of specific Universal Healing Tao practices, and the applications of the techniques from the first book to address particular, and often over-looked and untreated, stumbling blocks in addiction recovery. The result is a new way of looking at addiction treatment and a roadmap to a healthy lifestyle that can be adopted before or after addiction develops.

This booklet advocates that effective and lasting treatment should be simple, enjoyable and restorative. Information is necessary to build a healthy lifestyle, as are strategies for avoiding unhealthy temptations. The Universal Healing Tao System has been refined for over 5000 years to create the current set of practices that are designed to do just that. It is a self-healing system. By learning the practices students can practice anywhere without needing an instructor or great athletic ability or flexibility.
